Important information for new artists
As many of you know, FEMJOY is the world's leading website in pure nude photography and films.
Because of that we receive hundreds of new artist applications every year. The usual questions reach from information about our concept and content style to questions about what we pay per photo series or film.
Over the last years we tried to answer as many questions as possible, but we had to learn that only a fraction of all artists who apply have the ability and the understanding to create content which reaches the quality level of FEMJOY.
Many applicants have been professional photographers and were highly skilled. But only very few of them understood that we are not in search for the single image of a beautiful model. We look for the most beautiful natural beauties captured in series of photos (up to 150 photos per set) which are rich of variation in posing and camera perspectives and shot at colorful outdoor places.
Most of the applicants neither understood our concept nor had access to the natural beauties FEMJOY is so famous for.
To make it clearer, here is a guide for artists who think their work is a MUST to be published on FEMJOY.com:
- Check out www.femjoy.com and look at as many photos sets and videos as possible to understand our level of beauty, style and quality.
- To see the variation in posing and camera perspectives you must see the full set in the members area (we do not give away free memberships).
- Also check the quality of the full size photos and video FEMJOY publishes
- If you think you are better than most of the existing artists, find some beautiful models and shoot some sets in our style.
- Now please review the results of your shootings and compare them to our published sets regarding:
- beauty of your model(s)
- quality and beauty of your chosen location
- quality of your photographic skills (view, image selection, picture details, light, variation thoughout the series, eroticism, model's joy...)
- quality of your full size photo quality (focus, sharpness, color, noise...)
- Video: is your video simply as sexy and the film (story, filming, quality...) as good as the videos on FEMJOY.com?
- If you think your content meets entirely our concept and would be loved by our members, then please send us an email to including photos samples (JPGs in 1000px, videos as WMV in 640px wide). Don't forget to tell us about you and possibly other sites or projects you work for.
Q&A
Q: I am a professional photographer. Do you still accept new artists?
A: We are currently working with more than 100 artists. At this moment we do not accept new artists, unless they are super perfect and have perfect models.
Q: Do you make exceptions to that "rule"?
A: Yes, if the artist is super perfect and can create perfect photo series and/or videos in the FEMJOY style with super beautiful model, we are happy to accept her/him!
Q: How much do you pay per photo series or video?
A: We do not talk about prices unless we saw the work of an artist. As the world’s best nude art artists and models work for us, be sure the payments will not be an issue.
Q: If you say you dont't accept "flip-book" photography, what do you mean?
A: We mean we don't want many similar images in a series of photos. The perfect series is rich in variation. We want many different camera perspectives, including some close-ups and we want many different model posing and positions.
Q: How important are the models?
A: The models are maybe the most important element. Our style can be learned, but you always need a perfect natural beauty to make a perfect series or film.
Q: Do I need to find the models?
A: Yes, you need to find them. And the better and more exclusive your models are, the more chance you have to see your created work on FEMJOY.com.
Q: What’s the minimum requirement for the equipment?
A: For photo you will be fine off with the new Canon 5d Mark II, but also the Nikon D300 will be ok. Professional lenses and lights (and reflectors) are a pre-condition. For video we recommend the Canon and Sony semipro HDV cams plus some decent editing software as a minimum level of equipment. In general we think you cannot use a too good equipment :-)
Q: Do I need to edit my photos or video?
A: We highly recommend to shoot in RAW (photo) and to correct exposure, white balance or else if it adds to the quality of your originals.
Q: I usually shoot abut 200 images per photo series - do you buy it all?
A: Every artist shoots more than published. Obviously bad images or doublettes must be de-selected by the artist. Finally a set with 70-100 images will be more interesting to watch as people prefer to see the best without stealing their time.
Q: How long do you want the videos to be?
A: Per clip we believe 5-8 minutes should be perfect. Long enough to see it all, short enough to not get bored by repeats. Of course you will need to record up to 30 minutes of video footage in order to get together 5-8 nice minutes of final video.
